Do you need high ISO performance? The K-7 is tops over ISO 800, but the K-7 is the model to go for if you don't need the best high ISO performance possible.
By the sound of it you're working on a tripod, so I'd almost assuredly go for the K-7 since the K-x lacks support for a wired remote and delivers less resolution.
