yup, for said regulatory deficit/void and subsequent lack of shielding if I got him right > i looked at Digisol's site, and see that it claims its readers do 32 MB/sec, > in other words very similar to the claimed performance of Apple's built-in > reader; then i looked for a benchmark and found the Digisol reader topping > out at just over 19 MB/sec read speed for SDHC; interestingly, Memory Stick > got the best numbers in this reader, about 33 MB/sec yeah they have several models, one better for CF, one for SD and this one optimized for MS > <http://www.hjreggel.net/cardspeed/speed-by-reader-dsg1.html> Beware, old benchmark, there was a chip revision and Digisol recalled for replacement after the 300x CF issue. I can confirm the 19 MB/s for SDHC though and I am pretty content with that seeing it is a SanDisk 20 MB/s edition for whatever that means as there is opinion floating around the net that the 30 MB/s isn't much faster and the 20 can come clos eto 30 on peak, too... personally I just buy SanDisk for reliability and Digisol because everyone on amazon seemed so happy with it... it is a card reader and not a lens, after all. Speaking of which, happy happy joy joy micro enablement, I scored a new B+W Käsemann slim build circular polarizer for less than 40% of amazon =) Cheers Ecke > the site is hard to navigate, but it looks like a JMicron XpressCard unit > did the best with SDHC, at about 23 MB/sec > > <http://www.hjreggel.net/cardspeed/speed-by-reader-j389.html> > > > > > > -- > PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List > [email protected] > http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net > to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and > follow the directions. > -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
