turns out that I don't have a decent picture of the set-up. The only photo I
could find which included the bike set up as described needs such heavy
cropping that it can't be shown clearly.

I have seen on the web various things people have rigged up for putting
backpacks on bikes.

You could probably lash the tripod to the backpack quite easily.
