Well, because as it moves from 2.8 to 4, there is a change in f stop that is gradual, not sudden, at every aperture, so those of us who use spot meters or hand held meters or who work with flash without TTL find zoom lenses that change their aperture as they zoom to be a bit of a pain. -Aaron - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
