So sorry to hear that, John. All you have left to do is to check and clean mount contacts especially the two in five o'clock position inside the body and their counterparts on the lens. I recall several threads here and elsewhere of SDM possibly needing regular exercise so "rarely gets used" caught my eye and hopefully isn't the reason this is happening to you. Good luck Ecke
