Sorry to be so flippant - it really is disgraceful of Pentax not to have
sorted it out. It's no wonder they're going the way of the Dodo.


They definitely blew it on the SDM stuff. My understanding is that they have fixed the problem, but, of course, the lenses have to break and go in for the improved motor, which in most instances will not be a warranty repair (this is the part I find disgraceful).

Guess what: the motor has already been replaced! That's what the lens went in for last winter (I was incorrect in my initial email in stating it went in last year. K10D went in the late winter), since it had been having problems since the day I got it.
