The last one I saw on ebay went for $900. I don't think it really returns that 
much value. It's a collectible. I wouldn't be surprised if a DA* 50-135/2.8 is 
sharper at f4. Of course the extra stop + is worth something, particularly for 
low-light concert pics or shots where truly minimal DOF is desirable, but 
you're giving up autofocus as well. An A* 135/1.8 would not be a practical buy 
for most.
