My first SERIOUS camera was a Mamiya 500TL. A year later, I got a Pentax Spotmatic (1969). Both cameras gave me what I thought were mediocre results. Until I discovered that the weakest link in my system was a cheap Durst enlarging lens. I switched to a Schneider Componon and the quality of the images increased by about 500%. It took me 6 years to discover the issue.
