I can't find the reference off hand, but I recall that Pentax recommended against using the rechargeable CR-3Vs in the *ist DS due to them having a higher voltage than the non-rechargeables. I'm not sure if the same caution applies to more recent cameras. Your camera manual may indicate if the rechargeable CR-3Vs are usable.
