My *istDS and K200D manuals are also silent on the rechargeable CR-3Vs.

I found one reference to Pentax recommending against them in the DS -
it's towards the end of this page:

As I said previously, I don't know if its a concern with more recent
cameras - I've never thought the risk worth taking given the success
I've had with the Eneloops.
