As it happens we're flying off tomorrow to visit relatives in Wellington for a few days, but that's unrelated to our seismic goings-on. The experts say this kind of thing is to be expected about once a month but I don't know if they're predicting or merely reporting. It's been very settled today. I found a news report in my BBC feed just after I sent that email, but I stupidly forwarded it to myself instead of the list. Note I can't get BBC videos to work on Safari (it plays the ad but fails to load the rest). Works with Firefox though.
