The pentax dslrs cant do open aperture metering because they have no cam sensors to detect the f stop settings on the lenses of k/m series lenses.

It worked for me on my K1000 SE. I think I'm gonna have to study up on "stopped down" vs. "open aperture." Or maybe not. Maybe I'll just wait till it matters to me.
