That makes a lot of sense - I hadn't really thought of it that way.

Kinda hope they clean it up, though. :-)

Did you send it for a repair or for a cleanup?!
If it is the former, why should they do the latter? ;-)

I hope they would at least repair mine (17-70/4).. as it's been on the part hold (the circuit board) for almost 6 weeks. I don't think I'll get it back within this decade, but I am hopeful for the next year...

If it was sent in for warranty work, I'd demand a replacement.

The most frustrating thing is that it is open-ended.
They claim that Pentax USA cannot get information from the headquarters
in Japan about an estimate for the parts to be shipped.
If that's true, - Pentax USA is in big ... well, has a big problem.

I wrote to Ned Bunnell via comment on his blog. The comment was not
let to the blog, and Mr. Bunnell didn't bother to respond.
I guess it is's too common for them, - too many users are frustrated
about their lenses not being repaired, - especially since the recent
SDM lenses are known to have problems.

Good recent bodies, - but problems with the lenses (and the customer
service), - Pentax just cannot do all at the same time...
