Seeing my mother's mother, Lucile Hinsdale Jones (Pidge to us) off on the Queen 
Mary from the Cunard Line's pier in New York. I got to tour the ship for an 
hour or so with my mother. As we walked down the gangplank to disembark, my 
brand new fedora blew off my crown and sailed slowly down into the murky 
brown/green oily water below. A sad day because of it. She returned on the 
Queen Elizabeth a month later, the docking of which I wore no hat.  :-(
