As I recall, my teenage working years, the minimum wage climbed from 42 to 50
cents, then to 65 cents per hour in 1958. I felt rich too, but got pretty sore
working for it. , The 3 AM to 7 AM shift at a Dunkin' Doughnots, 2nd grill
cook at a local Pixie Pancake next door from 7 AM to 11 AM, then bagging
groceries, carrying the bags out to the car and loading them at the Star
Market from 11 AM to 3 PM. Swimming at Morse's Pond in the late afternoon.
Summer days were certainly full! Only bagging groceries in the late afternoon
during school.
