It is my belief that double-clicking a JPEG file should NEVER open
Bridge. That's all.
Bridge is a file system browser and workflow coordinator for the Adobe
Creative Suite, on both Mac OS and Windows.

I have many JPEG files in many folders. Why shouldn't I be allowed to double click on any one of them to open the program I wish to use to browse the folder they are located in?

I can do just that with Bridge CS3. The only question is why my newer version will not allow me to continue to do so.

If you don't know how to do it, that's fine, but don't tell me that I'm wrong for wanting to do it the way I want to do it.

There is a difference between not wishing to use the program in that way yourself and making a blanket prohibition that no one should be allowed to use the program in that way.

Quite simply, yours is *NOT* the only way to accomplish a task of work. There are other paths that will lead getting the job done, and I want to follow a path that gets the job done to MY satisfaction, not yours.
