I've heard of using the end of a large wooden dowel to sort of "iron
out" a bent filter ring. It might help if the threads are still in
good shape.
And there is a tool to fix bent filter rings-

Even if the filter ring is beyond help, maybe someone will have a use
for the link.

Well I've had it back for some time now and it's working better than
I had any right to expect, except for one small issue, the filter
ring is still bunged up. Replacement parts issue.
Unfortunately the screw in lens hood I'd been using won't. So I'm
looking for suggestions. What I'd really like is a clip on lens
hood for a ~35mm on full frame. Anybody have anything you can
recommend? (Boz's site shows the PH-S52 as the proper hood, but
it's listed as the proper hood for the 24mm on full frame as well so
what's up with that? Not to mention that it seems to be made out of
unobtainable these days). I'd really like something matched to the
APS-C format for proper hood length.
