The comments are funner, and completely miss the point.
What would a "classic" Auto 110 in m43 bring to the table?
It would be pretty much a me-too camera.
It wouldn't leverage existing Auto 110 lenses.
It wouldn't give Pentax the current synergy, (god I /hate/ that word),
it enjoys with the K and 645 systems. (large amounts of development in
software and even electronic hardware can be shared between the two very
different cameras since the 645 and various Ka and later lens variations
are electronically equivalent). To go with a different mount,
especially one of a competitor makes no sense.
It would however ape in looks a camera system a) most people hadn't
heard of, b) unlike the Olympus Pen doesn't have a lot of retro
coolness*, c) used the 110 cartridge which if most photographers think
of it at all see as an inferior format useful for only snapshots.
The article, or maybe one of the comments, also points out that the 4:3
sensor is /nearly/ the same size as the old 110 format, but so is APS-C
which shows markedly better noise characteristics in most
implementations ad higher ISOs.
*Let's face facts, it's a Plastic 70's design, high quality plastic,
wrapped around a very clever shutter-mirror-prism design, but not the
Chrome and leather(ette) of the Original Olympus Pen.

Might Pentax try to cash in on the "classic" camera trend?
