I agree. I have an old Macro Takumar 50 mm, a Tamron 90mm and a Konica Hexanon 55 mm Macro (which, surprisingly, mounts to K mount via an extension tube) but the Tamron is the one I use most. The extra working distance is a great benefit. It's also faster than the others and it's an excellent lens.
