that's a very worthwhile attitude to take to this sort of thing. I have the same approach to getting RPS Distinctions, when I can be bothered - it's quite difficult. But you have to be careful not to bend over so far to please someone else that you start making photographs that are not really your own. A big problem with this sort of thing is that it tends to reduce photography towards a Ken Rockwellish lowest common denominator.
