I wouldn't have said it was a "lie." That's a foolish response to a seemingly 
foolish explanation. And of course you didn't concoct the explanation, so in 
any event, you shouldn't take offense. We all shoot from the hip here. 
Criticizing Pentax is one of the things we do best.
