As I'm no longer trying to make a living with my Pentae, and my suite of
lenses is broad, it will not kill me if they end up selling cardboard
cameras with plastic lenses, nor cause me to change brands.
I would be upset if Pentax dropped service on the LX, however!
And I am very dissappointed with the firm for teasing us with the digital
version of their new body, and then going mute. Damnit, I want a gigapixel
body or back that my lenses will work with to full feature! And I would pay
several thousand for it. But not $7000, when many other maker lens
compatible bodies are coming out at rapidly dropping prices.
I suspect that the digicamera market will suffer the same traverse that our
computers have, gaining resolution and speed and conveniance enticing us to
replace them every few years to "keep up," then finally dropping in price to
a "reasonable" level.
