Everybody who has some bright idea for something or other expects everyone else to set up accounts, sign in to this and that, read all their junk mail and 'feeds' and tweets and twoos and fanny about like none of us is ever going to die and we have all the time in the world for all their crap. Fuck 'em.
well, that's one approach, but there are alternatives ... i use a password manager that integrates with my browser; for each new account i 1) create an unique email address (easy when you own your own domain), and 2) create a unique, strong password; i never even see the password, and the whole thing is saved into a vault automatically, ready to be automatically used when i next need to log in
while there's an up-front time investment in such a system, it is a huge timesaver in the end, and it also makes my accounts much more secure since none of them have the same password; and if a service disobeys my email preferences i have both a smoking gun and an easy way to filter the email to the trash
there are numerous tools to do this sort of thing; the one i use is called 1Password
