you can do that with SeaMonkey or Thunderbird or most other email apps
anyhow i was just making direct suggestions for solving the problems you
described, and thought others might find them useful even if you did
not; i do understand that change involves risks when one's workflow
seems settled; your choices are valid and you seem to have made them
knowing some problems will result
