Thanks for the reply Godfrey. Google has joggled my memory. The flash I was particularly thinking of was the Pentax AF240FT. You'll notice that in the lower righthand corner of the flash controls... http://hibid.hinet.net/Photos/23149736/1256479118633_2.jpg ...there is an SB setting. This stands for "Spot Beam".
