Not reinventing the wheel when you don't have to can be very clever, or at 
least wise.  

You made me think of checking where I got the cheap lightstands, and they have 
a couple of inexpensive bags:

Realistically, this might be the cheapest solution:

It's a bit smaller than yours, not as convenient, nor as well made, but at $23, 
a couple of them could work very well.
