I need a tripod head for my 6x7. I have a stout set of Bogen 3011 legs,
which seem quite suitable for medium format duty. I've been using them
with a video head, which works very well for horizontals due to it's
solid, wide base. But it's not well suited to vertical use. Which head
would the list recommend for the 6x7? I tend to think a pan head would
be preferable to a ball head in terms of damping vibration. Do you
agree? I also wonder if a flat base isn't superior to a quick release
when vibration is an issue. What say you?
