Well, my only experience with ballheads is Cullmann's CT-50, which I bought several weeks ago. It's Cullmann's top-of-the-line, with smooth action and a two-axis bubble level, plus the heavy-duty version of Cullmann's QR, complete with a medium-format beefy all-aluminum QR plate. I think it's rated to hold 12 pounds, but maybe more (15?).
