I love my 40/2.8. It's wonderfully small. I loaned someone my stormtrooper,
with it on it, and he thought it was just a body cap, didn't realize that there
was a lens on the camera until I pulled off the lens cap and started taking
pictures. It's also wonderfully sharp and has a lovely character to it's
photos. However, rather than buying it, I'd be look at the 35 macro, as so
often when I go on photo walks in the woods, I really wish I had a macro. I
had a raynox for it for a while but lost it when some stuff was stolen out of
the trunk of my car.

I've got the 31/1.8 and it's a wonderful lens, though I often miss the extra
2/3 stop that I would have gotten with the 30/1.4.

1) Wait until you've been shooting with the K-5 for a while and see exactly
what lengths, or speeds you are missing.

2) Ask your friends and family if they have any old Pentax gear gathering dust
in their closets. You'd be amazed at how many K1000s with 50/1.7 lenses are
sitting around and haven't been used in decades, or years.

3) look for cheap glass on craigslist.
