That is, despite various "hard drive scrubber" software makers' claims, the only Military Grade method of making a hard drive unreadable. For my part, when I dispose of a drive I just use one of the freeware "scrubbers" and then reformat... Then I go online and change all my important passwords. The likelihood of someone getting the drive and putting the time/effort into recovering data at that point is pretty slim and the only thing I really need to secure is access to my financial matters. -- Mark Roberts - Photography & Multimedia www.robertstech.com -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
