I just disassemble them to see how the technology has changed, then dispose of the components "creatively". Been doing it since the first XT hard drive crash back in '84. By the time I've taken the thing apart, completely apart, down to screws, and "tested" it (acids, bases, extreme temperatures, electromagnetic fields, gunfire, etc.), even the Supreme One would have a tough time of it.
