Michelle, The choice seems pretty straight forward. The Fisheye 17-35 is a *Fisheye* lens. Do you need a fisheye or a rectilinear? If fisheye all others are out and your decision is made, otherwise the fisheye is out.
Assuming you go rectilinear, now, do you need the extra stop in speed? If you do, then the Tokina is your choice (better build, better optics, better reputation), otherwise the Pentax FA 20-35 is the winner. Sum it up: Fisheye Yes - Pentax F 17-35 Fisheye No High speed Yes - Tokina 20-35 f2.8 High speed No - Pentax FA 20-35 HTH, Bruce Dayton Wednesday, March 06, 2002, 2:13:38 AM, you wrote: M> Thanks for all the feedback and especially the 'visual M> proof' M> Now the decision is the hard part....contendents M> (putting price aside for a moment) are: M> Pentax FA 20 - 35 M> Pentax 17-35 M> Tokina 20-35 f2.8 M> Sigma 20-40 f2.8 M> but it would be nice if it were Pentax..
