Here in south Florida theres even a thrift shop run by and for gays.
The charity runs free aids testing etc. Ive even found camera gear there.

I've read various things about the Salvation Army engaging in too much 
activism regarding their donations than I like. If they disapprove of 
the content of a book or something, they'll destroy it and throw it away 
rather than giving it to another charity that could use it. Likewise 
they engage in a bit too much anti-gay activism for my taste.
