I agree ... I don't drop things there very often. Sometimes I do
because they are the only ones who will take it and, despite the
negative aspects of their "mission", they do provide help for many who
need it. "Wheat is never harvested without some chaff" and all that.

The books I've disposed of go first to Ebay, the remainder to a used
bookseller where I get credit for what they can use. Once that has
filtered them, I drop the remainder (usually very few) at the Good
Will right down the street from the bookseller, or straight into a
dumpster. I've disposed of many books, but I have never considered the
Salvation Army a good place to do that.
