I wish I could get 8Gb into this Macbook Pro but it's apparently not possible. I have 4Gb in it at the moment. I run a few memory-intensive apps (the web browsers are the worst; don't get me started) and I often have to close stuff down to prevent the hard drive from thrashing. I think my next machine will have an SSD. I used to regularly process 300Mb files from my 6x7 scans using my G5 PowerMac which I think has 3Gb. It wasn't lightning fast but it was acceptable to me. This laptop would probably be a bit faster but I've never done a comparison.
