Bulent, yes, absolutely; assuming you have a handle on making the Eye-Fi card work with Linux (that appears to be a solved problem [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye-Fi]).
I'd recommend you look at incrond: "The incrond (inotify cron daemon) is a daemon which monitors filesystem events (such as add a new file, delete a file and so on) and executes commands or shell scripts." http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-inotify-examples-to-replicate-directories/ To view images dropped into /tmp/eyefi, your config file would have something like this: /tmp/eyefi/ IN_CREATE /usr/local/bin/preview $@ "preview" would be a script that would keep track of already viewed images and send new ones to the image viewer desktop app. On Mon, Feb 27, 2012 at 3:11 AM, Bulent Celasun <[email protected]> wrote: > Good idea, fine work. > > Do you think a similar script (plus the hardware) would do the same under > Linux? > > Bulent > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > http://www.flickr.com/photos/bc_the_path/ > http://photo.net/photodb/user?user_id=2226822 > http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/artists/bulentcelasun > > > > 2012/2/27 Bruce Walker <[email protected]>: >> On Sun, Feb 26, 2012 at 5:18 PM, Larry Colen <[email protected]> wrote: >>> >>> On Feb 25, 2012, at 7:12 PM, Bruce Walker wrote: >>> >>>> Here's a blog article I wrote on how to use wireless tethering with >>>> Pentax cameras.
