Bulent, yes, absolutely; assuming you have a handle on making the
Eye-Fi card work with Linux (that appears to be a solved problem
[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye-Fi]).

I'd recommend you look at incrond:

"The incrond (inotify cron daemon) is a daemon which monitors
filesystem events (such as add a new file, delete a file and so on)
and executes commands or shell scripts."

To view images dropped into /tmp/eyefi, your config file would have
something like this:

/tmp/eyefi/ IN_CREATE /usr/local/bin/preview $@

"preview" would be a script that would keep track of already viewed
images and send new ones to the image viewer desktop app.
