I haven't eBayed for maybe ten years. Once stores and other retail outlets took
over I just found it too frustrating to wade through all the overpriced crap to
find the odd little gem.

But I digress...

I could be wrong, but I wouldn't think that a 99% approval rating will be any
different than a 100% rating when it comes to sales, Ann, especially with the
volume and number of years you've been at it.

Everyone out there will realize that there are nutbars and creeps out there who
seem to make a hobby of nasty comments and ratings.

For myself, if I saw a less than 100% rating for a seller, I would always check
who made the comment and look at ~his~ record of comments and ratings;
invariably you'd see many other negative ratings made by them. I knew I could
ignore it and proceeded with the transaction.

As well, if a seller had a year of perfect transactions I'd take any negatives
as a blip to be ignored.

Anyway, Ann, rest easy. One bad rating means nothing. Buyers are educated
enough to look past one unfortunate incident.

:-)

cheers,
frank

i know it may affect sales, but your eBay reputation is not your real
reputation; it is a totally trumped up system that relies on no one ever really
saying what they think in order to prop each other up; i often just skip giving
any feedback because i know if i give a four out of five for "pretty good but
not stunning" then i am going to cause consternation; so my advise is let it
roll — there are many of us who don't believe any eBay reputation is really 100%

and offered, frustration responds best to time and warmth, so perhaps the
outlook is better by the time this response comes
