eBay is a pain with malicioius feedback.
They hate their sellers -- the people who pay them money.
My last neg was from a guy who wanted me to ship before he paid.
And they won't remove that despite a phone call and recognition of the
situation.
But you leave something hostile to a buyer, watch out. That's "feedback abuse".
I use eBay only because it's there.
So I understand completely.
Do they allow you to post a response to the negative feedback that others can
read in your profile? I mean in addition to leaving your own feedback.
Our local auction site allows you to do this for "negative" or "neutral" feedback. IIRC
the "neutral" option doesn't affect your positive feedback rating.

Dave- yes, I did that, actually - but you only get 80 characters to do
it in.
what was really upsetting in my case is that I responded to his letter
and he didn't answer that
for anyone reading this that didnt follow the whole original thread
I got one neg feedback (having not had any in over 12 years) because
package had not yet gotten to Brazil. I answered with proof it was
mailed and said it sometimes took 2 months (this was nearly that)
He didnt respond, just waited a week and gave me bad feedback.
apparently to be portected from postal abuse, so to speak, you have
to use "Expedited" shipping - which costs an arm and a leg.
well its all red tape under the keyboard at this point and I'm
recouped.
I think, actually, that no one should be allowed to give a seller
neg feedback where proof of shipping is provided - only if item
has been received and examined.
good morning everyone
