I didn't mention the most obvious reason.  Perhaps he had run out of 400F
and was forced to shoot the 100 two stops under to get the pictures.  No
film suppliers nearby in the field, so he had to make do with what he had.

My question is why would the photographer want to push-process Provia 100
two stops? Why not just use Provia 400F ? Or am I missing something
