On every board, of every type, I've been on there is someone who recites canned responses as dogma. Every problem, regardless of the differences, is treated as a "nail" and struck with the "right" hammer. (I was on a car board, and any time someone had "better & handling" in a question, the answer "Ebach lowering springs" came back.) It didn't help that photo.net was started by a rather cocky individual, who tended to start from a certain set of assumptions that usually lead to Nikon and Canon as the starting point for 35mm solutions. There are lots of kids who want to grow up to be just like Philip Greenspun and try to mimic him. What can I tell you? Maybe it should be called the photojock.net board.
