Interesting article, and as others have said I've encountered a lot of similar advice in other contexts.
The author makes critiquing seem unduly burdensome. You don't have to write a whole paragraph (or even four sentences, as he suggests) to point out that there's toilet paper stuck to the subject's shoe. I've learned a lot here from very short comments, and I learn as much from the positive ones as from the negative ones.
