Interestingly, that article makes no mention of Queensland location
(information which might help to date when the Ghost Sign was
painted). I also found no mention of a "Works, Queensland" so either
I'm reading that wrong or the "WORKS" is supposed to go with the
previous line (as in "Stanley Works", here in U.S. history). One can
also search that infernal auction site (around the world) to locate
advertising and other ephemera to help with dating the sign.
It's sort of a mini mystery: The Hardy Boys and the Adelaide Ghost Sign
Ah - you missed the transcription in the caption at the bottom of my photo.
Your transcription is almost right but it's "Queenstown SA" not "Queensland".
SA is South Australia and Queenstown is a suburb of Adelaide.
