the Fa35/2 must be a piece o crap lens if its a prime that cant match
an even great zoom at middle apertures.

I have the FA 35/2 but almost never use it. The DA* 16-50 is sharper and
more contrasty at every stop IMO, and it's hard to dispute the convenience
of a zoom, particularly when working quickly and efficiently is important.
