Back when Pentax was Pentax, according to some folk at a "Pro" camera store in Seattle, they shot themselves in the foot with a few bad decisions on how companies who sold Pentax for years would have to stock the whole line, or bye bye. All but the true camera stores either dropped the line, or bought elsewhere, not directly from Pentax USA, to stock the models they felt were what their customers would buy.
Second hand knowledge, but it sounded like that's the reason they dropped the LX, the 645, and the 6x7 line, and therefor did not have any Pentax accessories other than new/old stock. That's why we all look to B&H and the other NYC catalog/magazine sellers, or eBay.
