That's the way to go. With today's software it's trivially easy to
sync the sound and video in post-production.

It's just something I'd like to give a whirl sometime. With all the
impressive amateur video out there on the web, it just seems to me it
would be a shame not to at least try out the capability given that it's
right there in my hands anytime I want it.
Of course, I could make a complete hash of the whole thing. But, as they
say, "Nothing ventured is a penny earned."
