It's great that you were able to talk with him and it is very heartening that Pentax is listening to real users!

He loved the mx-1 and wanted to brass his copy up lol.
Long time ago the Detroit auto makers came up with the Opera Window as a great innovation that was sure to promote a lot of excitement about their products. As Wikipedia puts it, the opera window would "evoke in consumers' minds the elegance and romance of a night at the opera." (Apologies to the Marx Brothers.) Meanwhile, their competitors were focused on silly little things like quality, fuel economy, safety... Guess how that worked out. Oh wait, we're talking about a brassable P&S digital camera, oops, sorry, I'm rambling....
He also confirmed that the Q indeed lacks a low pass AA filter.
That is very interesting and helps explain why the image quality on the Q is so good.
I did repeatedly state that marketing in north america needs vastly
expanded upon. He said that their goal is to become the #3 camera maker in
the world. To that end I say, best of luck and its going to be an interesting
ride either way. Looking forward to the future of pentax in this small
corner!

I think it would be great if Pentax could get to a top 5 spot in the world market. I doubt that they will crack into that in the USA but the world is a whole different world than America and they might have a chance there.

Thanks for the report -

Mark
