I am in a similar quandary with Larry. I've considered the used-MacPro option but am a bit put off that the built in external connections are USB2.0 (rather than 3.0) and FW400 or FW800 rather than FW800 or Thunderbolt. I suppose there are workarounds, but doesn't it make sense to take full advantage of built-in connectors before adding card(s) to the box? That is meant as a serious question, not a rhetorical one; I really don't know how to evaluate the tradeoffs. But if I have full use of, for example, FW800, then I can continue to use my external drives as now rather than stuffing them into the box and generating more heat to stimulate the noisy fan. stan -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
