That sounds kind of dumb. If nothing else, it's wasting popcorn. It says
right on the package you're supposed to stay with it and listen for when
it's complete so you can stop the microwave before it catches fire.

If you use the same microwave & same brand of popcorn all the time you
should be able to figure out pretty quickly what settings to use.

And I wouldn't leave it unattended at work, because some low life
will steal your popcorn if you aren't watching.

What's =really= neat is to put you bag of popcorn in a 1500 watt
commercial microwave oven, set it to run for 5 minutes, and walk
away.

Smoke, alarms, flashing lights, sirens... it's quite a show!

Somebody must do this at work every week....
