I'm using an older version of Firefox [3.6.6] mainly because it doesn't do several things the newer version does that annoy me very much.

The tick box is not there. I searched around in the Tools & Options and finally found a check box for "automatically search for updates", but I'm still getting the second tab nagging me to update add-ons

Just go to the add-on's manager and un-tick the "update add-ons
automatically" checkbox.

Anybody got an idea how to make this GO THE F### AWAY!!?

Firefox help is less than useless. I might as well be using Internet
Exploder.
