What do you think, Ricoh is Leica? There are only two manufactures photography that could get away with making such a special purpose device as a monochrome only digital camera, and only three that might actually try it. Leica already makes such a beast, and will probably make a profit on each one sold. Canon could make such a beast and afford the loss on each one sold. Sony might make one and convince themselves that it wouldn't kill their camera division, but it might.
